15five is a B2B SaaS tools helping HR leaders drive employee efficiency and performance. As design lead for a new growth team, I had an opportunity to lead discovery for addressing churn.

I moved on before gleaning insights, but l created a strategic growth framework that outlasted my tenure.

Intuitive design instead of over-communication

By introducing context cues, we could flatten the learning curve by translating walls of text into intuitive design.

Co-creating with other departments

Particularly customer support and implementation demonstrated that we didnt need guides, we needed to make the product more intuitive

Aligning departments on user goals & product priorities

Each component went through multiple rounds of exploration to ensure they would be meaningful additions to the design system and could support the.

Getting buy-in for a UX Backlog

Another exciting outcome was the UX Backlog. This activity helped communicate the impact of UX improvements and customer segments helped prioritize work in the backlog.


Addressing activation

Introducing UI for flows that were previously handled by conversations with implementation managers. Reduces time to setup and empowers users to make independent updates.

Addressing acquisition

Each component went through multiple rounds of exploration to ensure they would be meaningful additions to the design system and could support the varying states and configurations of dashboards.
